March 2020 will see the first annual conference being hosted by the new National Police Wellbeing Service, launched in April this year.
Building on the success of the last two UpBeat! conferences we held in partnership with Police Care UK, the 2020 conference will bring together expert speakers and practitioners to share learning, thinking and experience.
The conference will look at how wellbeing impacts all levels of policing both locally and nationally. An inspirational agenda will include expert insights, innovative projects and thought provoking initiatives happening at local level along with inputs and updates from the National Police Wellbeing Service where delegates will help to shape this ongoing and vitally important work.
We look forward to exchanging ideas, learning about what’s happening in forces and helping each other find solutions to the challenges in police wellbeing.
Is this conference for you?
It is really important that the people who attend this conference have some responsibility for wellbeing in their force. We want those in more senior positions and practitioner levels, who can make a change happen at a strategic level, attend along with frontline representation as we know a lot of the drivers for change come directly from the frontline. We need people who want to make a difference and are willing to take back their learning and make change happen locally. There is no charge for this conference.
The event takes place at Chesford Grange, Warwick, over two days in March, commencing at lunch time on Wednesday 18th with a packed afternoon of learning followed by a gala dinner and awards ceremony in the evening. Thursday 19th will see more speakers and workshops, the event will finish shortly after lunch. A full agenda will be sent out in due course.
This conference is by the National Police Wellbeing Service and is primarily aimed at policing but we may be able to offer limited spaces to wellbeing practitioners from any of the Fire and Rescue Services who are currently using the Blue Light Wellbeing Framework. Places are limited so if you are interested in attending this event please register your interest, telling us your role and why this conference is for you.

Oscar Kilo Awards
The event will include a gala dinner and the presentation of the second annual Oscar Kilo Awards, where we will be recognising the fantastic work that is going on in police forces across the country to support the workforce.
These awards have been created to recognise the amazing work that has been done, and continues to be done, across UK policing when it comes to providing wellbeing support for the people who work for you.
The award categories reflect the six areas of the Blue Light Wellbeing Framework; Creating the Environment, Leadership, Absence Management, Mental Health, Personal Resilience and Protecting the Workforce. If you have completed, or are working towards the Blue Light Wellbeing Framework and you have a project or programme that you feel is making a difference to your force, and is worthy of recognition, then let us know!
