Data, insight and supporting leadership

Data and insights

By working with forces to assess what wellbeing data is currently available at both local and national levels, we’re building a shared understanding of the key challenges facing policing. This information means we’ll be making evidence-based decisions, creating better services and providing policing with the support it actually needs. This includes looking at things like:

  • How forces are engaging with and using NPWS services, such as peer support, OK9 dogs etc
  • What data we have on police assaults
  • Occupational health metrics and gathering data on trauma in policing
  • Providing actionable insight for HMICFRS to inform their inspections and strategic planning for forces

Supporting Leadership

Our role goes beyond providing resources to help improve wellbeing – we’re also working with leadership to ensure that the service is meeting it’s legal and moral obligations and ensuring that wellbeing is strategically aligned with national policing reform and the NPCC Workforce Strategy. We’re providing:

  • Executive-level inputs in collaboration with CIPD and CoP
  • Subject Matter Expert input across all CoP leaderships courses and PDR
  • Participation in national policing courses, including the Executive Leaders Programme, Public Order Command and in-force CPD events
  • Tailored consultancy for senior leaders to implement effective wellbeing strategies
  • Webinars, workshops, and action plans for force-level delivery
