As part of response policing week the College of Policing are hosting: Feed your body clock - one of our nutrition for wellbeing webinars, delivered by nutritionalist Anna Earl, aimed at shift workers.
Response Policing Week: Nutrition webinar
Monday 26 June, marks the beginning of the third national response policing ‘Week of Action’, which in addition to celebrating the professionalism and courage of response officers, is also an opportunity to recognise the challenges facing response policing and consider the future development of a key role that sits at the heart of policing.
We are supporting the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC), College of Policing, and the Police Federation, throughout the week to deliver a range of initiatives, co-ordinated specifically to support, develop and recognise the role of response officers.
Feed your body clock webinar
What we eat can have a massive impact on our long-term health and how well we age, but it can also affect how we perform at work, our energy levels and our mood.
Shift workers have an increased risk of chronic disease, due to the topsy-turvy nature of living contrary to our natural body clock. This session will look at nutrition and lifestyle recommendations that can help you reduce that risk, to choose foods that offer greater nourishment.
Learn which food groups provide more sustained energy and pick up some tips on healthy food preparation to take meals with you to work.
The webinar will be run by nutritionalist Anna Earl who we have been working closely with over the last 12 months to develop a package of nutritional resources to support police wellbeing.
