Commissioned by the Movember Foundation, The Centre for Men’s Health at Leeds Beckett University and the Men’s Health Forum have published a report called ‘Promoting Mental Health and Wellbeing with Men and Boys: What Works?’
This report combines a literature review and environmental scan that considers what works for promoting mental health and wellbeing with men and boys. The team gathered current research evidence and practical knowledge about existing programmes or interventions with an aim of identifying core elements that, combined, could result in successful engagement with men and boys around mental health, early intervention, stigma reduction and identify knowledge gaps.
The report concludes with a review of the current knowledge in the field, gaps in that knowledge, and provides 13 key recommendations / suggestions for organisations to consider when developing their own interventions.
